Evanescence – Good Enough
Feb 23rd
Sorry about missing a few weeks here, work completely blocked the internet, so no more working on the site or updating the blog during lunch. Anyway, on to this week’s Song.
One of Evanescence’s greatest songs: Good Enough. From the first moment I heard it I realized how powerful the song was, and after listening to it a few times the song’s lyrics struck so many chords within me that it brought tears to my eyes.
The entire song is about the beauty of a completely true love, one that burns with such an intense fire that you can’t see or comprehend anything going on outside of the world that you’ve created with your significant other. Nothing seems real, and while the fire is burning so perfectly, you’re constantly waiting for the rain to come and wash aways all that you know and love, all that you’ve fallen for, all that is causing the flames within to fade away completely. Even though you feel like it’s all going to end, you can’t pull yourself out, and you’ll do anything to keep your love alive, and because of that you simply cannot bring yourself to say no to the one you love.
Anyway, enough of my rambling. I love this song, and I hope that you do too. Check out the video (it’s on YouTube)… it complements the song perfectly and is just as beautiful (Amy Lee is absolutely amazing). Enjoy.
Good Enough
Under your spell again.
I can’t say no to you.
Crave my heart and it’s bleeding in your hand.
I can’t say no to you.
Shouldn’t let you torture me so sweetly.
Now I can’t let go of this dream.
I can’t breathe but I feel…
Good enough,
I feel good enough for you.
Drink up sweet decadence.
I can’t say no to you,
And I’ve completely lost myself, and I don’t mind.
I can’t say no to you.
Shouldn’t let you conquer me completely.
Now I can’t let go of this dream.
Can’t believe that I feel…
Good enough,
I feel good enough.
It’s been such a long time coming, but I feel good.
And I’m still waiting for the rain to fall.
Pour real life down on me.
‘Cause I can’t hold on to anything this good enough.
Am I good enough for you to love me too?
So take care what you ask of me,
’cause I can’t say no.
