Looking up…
Apr 17th
Things are finally starting to look up a bit for me. Here’s the run-down:
Work. Ever since getting screwed by the Air Force I’ve been working on finding a job, and the hunt has not been going too well. Thankfully my friend John was able to help me out in the meantime by getting me some extra shifts with the security group, which has been enough to keep me afloat in the meantime. Now, I’ve got a second interview on Sunday at Wawa, which would be a perfect job for me at the moment, for a number of reasons. First off, the obvious: extra money. Also, the shifts are flexible enough that I’ll be able to continue working a few shifts at EPS (the security group), and I’ll still have time left over for the next topic…
School! I’m finally going to be heading back to school in the fall. I’ve already registered for the fall semester at Penn State Berks. I’ll be going for their Information, Science, and Technology degree. I’ve already spoken to Dr. Feinstein (my honors advisor from my first two years at PSBerks) and will be resuming my enrollment in the Honors Club. My first semester I will be taking two IST courses (the basic pre-requisite course and a media on the internet course), Elementary Chinese, Statistics 200, and Intro to Physics. Should be a fun, educational, and interesting semester. It will also be the semester that I really begin to move on with my life, since I will be…
Moving! Assuming that I get the job at Wawa (which is honestly looking good), I will be moving in with my friend Phil, and it will be legen… wait for it… DARY! He could use the extra cash, I could use a place to live other than my parent’s place (yeah, it’s great, but it’s my parent’s house and I’m going to be 23 this year), and… well… it will just be awesome. So, if all goes well, I’ll be moving in sometime next month.
Well, that’s pretty much everything. The only other thing right now is that I started working on a new novel that is as of yet unnamed. It’s a crime novel, and I have it all planned out, which honestly means it will most likely fail horribly… But hell, it has to be better than “The Dance” which hasn’t really come together at all, even through all the editing, which sucks since it’s my first major work. Maybe I’ll go back to it in a few years, but for now I’m just going to stick it in the closet and forget about it. I’ll start working on the new novel, hopefully it will go well.
So, that’s pretty much it for me. Hopefully things keep going up, and I’ll put out another update as soon as there’s any news.
Snow… lots of snow…

Well, snow sucks, but at least I had some fun today! Check the pics below… Hey Mommom, bet you can’t do this in Florida!
Update… finally!!!
Jan 6th
Hey everyone! I just realized today that I haven’t written any updates since August, and that is a very long time. I appologize for the long delay.
Anyway, onto the updates and everything else.
It’s a new year, and this year I finally get my fresh start. On February 16th I will be leaving PA and heading off to basic training for the US Air Force. Once I’ve finished with basic training I’ll be heading off to tech school, where I’ll get training in Network Engineering, which will become career within the Air Force for my first four years. I still do not know where my permanent station will be, but that is really one of the most exciting things about this entire experience.
There really isn’t much more going on in my life at the moment. I work (only 54 hours of work left, thankfully), I go to the gym, I play video games, rinse and repeat. I could go on, but it would quickly start to sound as though I’m looking for sympathy or feeling sorry for myself, and that’s the last thing that I want to do. I’m happy with my life for the moment, if only because I know that something meaningful is laying just around the bend for me.
And now, rather than spiraling into useless rambles about meaningless shit, I bid you a farewell (only for now), and will see you again the next time that I have something worth writing about.
Random Updates…!
Apr 19th
Not really all that much going on in my life at the moment. I’ll be going on vacation in a couple of weeks. Hopefully I’ll be able to get some writing done, along with some other stuff that I’ve been putting off. I’ll try to post some pictures whenI get back.
I’ve had a lot of notifications about people registering for the blog, and I’m happy that people seem interested in it. I have no idea who any of them are, and I haven’t really seen comments from anyone, but it’s still cool to know that people like what I’m doing… Know that you can always e-mail me with suggestions for content, and you are always more than welcome to post comments on the site.
As for other updates, like I said, there isn’t much. I got a new laptop (I’m writing this on my back deck with a soda , listening to Lauren Pritchard, lol). Other than that I’ve just been doing what I always do: playing video games, watching movies, working, and playing around with my computers…
Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know that I was still here and stil kicking… just waiting for something worth writing about to happen, then I’ll have something to add to all this… For now I leave you with my favorite farewell:
May the wind always be on your back and the sun upon your face
and may the winds of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars…
Random updates!
Jan 16th
Hey everyone, just wanted to post a few random updates about what’s going on with me and with the site.
First off, many of you know that I have been working on a novel for the past, oh, almost 8 years. It has gone from “work in progress” to “work stored under the bed” and back again many, many times in that time. A few of you reading may have even helped me along with it in some way or another. Well, I’m happy to announce that I have picked it up again and am working my way through the final editing, adding material where needed and clarifying things that I wasn’t good enough to make clear before (the first half of the book is getting a major cleaning, whereas the back half won’t need quite as much). When this process is finished I’ll be sending the manuscript to as many publishers as I can, begging and pleading for them to publish it. So that’s what’s going on with that. I’ll keep you updated as the work goes on.
In a completely different topic, I’ve finally made the jump from cancer-causing, smelly as hell cigarettes to the eCig. For those of you who don’t know what an eCig is, it’s an Electronic Cigarette. It uses a battery and an atomizer to vaporize water, flavoring, nicotine, and propylene glycol, then sends that vapor shooting down your throat and giving smokers that much desired kick of nicotine. The upsides of this are many. I can now smoke anywhere and everywhere without stinking the joint up, I don’t produce any first- or second- hand smoke at all, and I won’t die of cancer (at least not from the cigarette)! That and the added bonus of saving about $20-40 a month made this a very sweet deal. Anyway, I’m telling you guys about this because I wanted to give me recommendation to any smokers out there to make the switch to these beautiful little machines. Yes, it takes a bit of getting used to, but the freedom it provides, along with how much better you feel after only a couple days, makes it very worthwhile. The start-up cost is around $50-80 depending on where you go (I suggest www.puresmoker.com. They are the best I’ve found, and that’s where I’ve been getting all of my stuff lately), but after that initial cost you’ll only really need to spend around $20-30 a month or so after that (for more cartridges, liquid, filters, batteries or atomizers if yours dies, etc). Anyway, if you can, make the switch, those around you might actually start liking you again once you stop smelling like an ashtray.
Another switch in topics, this time to college. My application to RIT was rejected (got the letter this last weekend), so now I’m moving on and applying to Penn State’s Erie campus. Still sticking with the Software Engineering degree if I can get into the program up there. If I get in I’ll be starting in either August ’09 or January ’10.
That’s really it for new things in my world. I’m still working Monday-Friday, 9-6 at Stevens & Lee, still drinking and playing video games every night, and haven’t been on a date since February ’08. Just doing my best to enjoy my life and pass the time until I go back to school.
